Still Have Questions?

Schedule a 15 Minute Chat with Meadow.

We can walk you through the community solar program, review your electric account, and answer any questions.

  • Am I eligible to participate?
Homeowners, renters, non-profits, businesses, municipalities – basically, any utility customer receiving electric service from a participating utility is eligible. The only exclusions are accounts that already participate in rooftop solar or have another community solar subscription. Enrollment is subject to solar farm capacity. Availability is limited.
  • How much can I save?
You can save up to 5%-10% on your electricity costs per year. There is no scenario where you pay more by participating in community solar. Savings are guaranteed each month.
  • Do I have to install or maintain anything?
No. There is no equipment to install on your roof or property, and there is nothing for you to maintain.
  • Do I still get power from the utility?
Yes. Your current electric service will not be interrupted or changed in any way. You will receive the same electric service and monthly bill from the utility as you do now.
  • Where do I see my savings?
The Solar Credits are applied directly on your electric utility bills. An example of these Solar Credits applied to a utility bill are found on the How it Works page.
  • When will I start to see Solar Credits on my electric bill?
Generally, customers begin to see Solar Credits on their utility bills within 2 - 3 billing cycles, or 60 - 90 days from enrollment. This is subject to available space on currently operating solar farms or the construction timelines for new solar farms.
  • How Many Solar Credits Will I Recieve?
When you enroll your electric account, Meadow validates it with the utility and looks up your yearly electricity usage. From there we estimate the future production of the solar farm relative to your average electric usage, and we tell the utility to allocate you a percentage of the solar farm's future production. We continually monitor the solar farm's performance relative to your electric usage and always try to match the two, which results in you saving the most amount of money possible.
  • Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can choose to cancel your subscription at any time, for any reason, and at no cost. If you are a large commercial customer, please refer to the terms of your specific agreement.
  • I have ESCO supply, can I participate?
Yes. If you receive your energy supply from an ESCO (Energy Service Company), you can still enroll in community solar. Meadow is not an ESCO, and community solar can co-exist with ESCO supply service.
  • What's the catch?
There is no catch. Community solar is the simplest way to go solar while saving money on your electric bill. Community solar, which began in 2013, currently serves over 600,000 homes in the U.S. Meadow alone saves its 25,000 customers over $2.1 Million each year.
